Student-Proposed Projects

Important: student-proposed projects must be submitted before the start of registration.

Normally, a student will select a project that is proposed by a supervisor (see available projects). However, it is possible for the student (or a group of students) to propose their own project.

The project proposed by the student should be an idea that has been thought through well in advance of the semester. The student(s) should already have a good understanding of the technical details of the project and have previous relevant practical experience in the area of the project. If it is a group project then other group members should similarly be able to bring to the project relevant experience.

If you wish to propose your own project please make sure you understand the regulations and follow the procedure outlined below:

  • Send the following information to eee499.gantep@gmail.com (EEE499 e-mail address) before the start of registration or announced deadline:

    • The Name(s) of the student(s), email and phone contact(s).
    • Education Type of all the students involved (First or Second)
    • Project Title
    • Number of students required for the project
    • Overview of the study
    • Main design in the project
    • Realistic constraints that should be satisfied
    • Criteria for the success of the project
    • Division of tasks (in the case of a group project)
    • Apparatus/tools
    • Estimated budget

  • The proposed project must comply with the graduation project regulations.
  • The proposed project must not be a direct or very close copy of a design that is already in the public domain.
  • To make sure the project can start in good time: The proposed project will be assessed by the GPC within 2 working days of submission. If the project passes the GPC assessment then a search for a supervisor will be performed. If a supervisor is not found within 2 working days then the project will be rejected. If the project does not pass the GPC assessment then a reason for rejection and/or suggestion for revision will be given immediately.
  • The GPC and supervisor have the right to request modifications to any aspect of the proposed project. This request must be made within 2 working days of the allocation of the supervisor.
  • The GPC will ignore proposals that are received after registration starts.
  • The design part of your project must be specified.
